MAYSVILLE, Ky. (Mason County Post) — A local dining landmark is marking a major milestone this week.
deSha’s Restaurant & Bar is celebrating 45 years in business. The restaurant, located at 1166 U.S. 68, opened in 1981 and has long been a Maysville favorite for steaks, seafood, pasta and regional specialties.
Staff and management recently gathered for a group photo with a special anniversary cake that read “deSha’s Celebrating 45 years of hospitality and friendship since 1981.”
In a Facebook post, the restaurant invited the community to stop in on Monday, Sept. 21, for a complimentary slice of cake. In addition, special Throwback menu features will be available all week.
deSha’s was the first restaurant opened by Nick Sanders, who later built Tavern Restaurant Group. He named the Maysville location after his father, deSha Sanders, and has described it as a place meant to offer warm hospitality in a town he enjoyed visiting while growing up. The success of the Maysville restaurant later led to additional locations, including one in the Cincinnati area.
The restaurant remains a community gathering spot with three private dining rooms available for events, along with a full bar and a menu that has kept local diners coming back for more than four decades.
Hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 9 or 10 p.m. on Sunday. For more information, call 606-564-9275.
