MAYSVILLE, Ky. (Mason County Post) — The IGA grocery store is set to return to the East End of Maysville under new ownership.
Mayor Debra Cotterill announced Monday that Perry and Maggie Parmar will reopen the store. Cotterill said the experienced owners presented a strong business plan focused on quality produce, fresh meats and deli offerings.
“They are committed to providing a competitive grocery for our downtown citizens,” Cotterill posted on Facebook. “It has been a pleasure working with the Parmars, the property owners, and the Buffalo Trace ADD to secure this much needed business for Maysville.”
The East End IGA closed on May 2. Its return fills a gap left in that part of the business district, which sits near the downtown Family Dollar location.
A photo accompanying the mayor’s announcement shows Cotterill shaking hands with Perry Parmar in front of the store, joined by Maggie Parmar and a young boy.
No official reopening date has been announced.
