Maysville City Commission Appoints Niccole Harris to Serve on the Commission on Human Rights
MAYSVILLE, Ky. (Mason County Post) — Niccole Harris, founder and owner of Maysville Hands of Hope, has been appointed to the Maysville Commission on Human Rights by the Maysville City Commission on Thursday, June 11.
Harris has become a prominent community advocate in Maysville, building Hands of Hope into an essential hub for residents facing homelessness, addiction recovery, financial hardship, and related challenges. Since its opening in late 2022, the organization has provided essential supplies, support services, and a compassionate, judgment-free space for those in need.
The Maysville Commission on Human Rights focuses on promoting equal opportunity, addressing discrimination, and advancing civil rights within the city. Appointees are typically chosen for their community leadership, dedication to local issues, and commitment to fairness and inclusion.
Harris joins current members Carmen Gomez, Brey Foster, Jason Giles, and Beth Nolder on the commission.
In addition to her new role, Harris serves as Board Chair of Maysville Hands of Hope Inc. She has spearheaded numerous volunteer initiatives, clothing and supply drives, and collaborative partnerships with local businesses, including STOBER. The nonprofit continues to grow its impact across Mason County, supported entirely by community donations and dedicated volunteers.
Mason County Post will continue to follow this story and provide updates as more information becomes available.
