Maysville’s Fazoli’s Shuts Down Abruptly, Leaving Workers Jobless Overnight
MAYSVILLE, Ky. (Mason County Post) The beloved Fazoli’s restaurant in Maysville, Kentucky, abruptly closed its doors as of Friday, January 1, catching employees and loyal customers off guard. The Italian fast-casual chain, known for its unlimited breadsticks and affordable pasta dishes, operated at 416 Market Square Drive.
The announcement surfaced on the local Facebook group “Eat Up Maysville”, In the emotional post a concerned citizen shared:
“Yes Maysville Fazolis has closed its doors with not any notice I’ve read comments regardless on how you feel or felt about the we employees were left without a job no warning ppl have kids to take care of and bills to pay nobody is talking about that tho instead they wanna criticize you I pray for you and my work family because I severe a God so big that I know he has a plan for me because when one door closes there is another one open”
The facebook users words underscore the sudden nature of the closure, with no prior warning to staff. Many employees now face uncertainty, especially those supporting families amid rising living costs.
No official reason for the closure has been provided by Fazoli’s corporate parent, FAT Brands. However, the chain’s Maysville page now lists all days as closed, and directories like MapQuest mark it as permanently shuttered.
This closure comes amid broader challenges for FAT Brands, which has faced significant financial pressures, including recent demands for immediate repayment of substantial debt. While not directly linked in statements, such corporate strains have led to location shutdowns across various brands in the portfolio.
For now, the community rallies around those affected, with many hoping the former employees find new opportunities quickly in the local job market. The sudden loss underscores the vulnerabilities faced by workers in the restaurant industry, especially in smaller towns.
