MAYSVILLE, Ky. (Mason County Post) — Maysville’s Pizza Hut location has permanently closed, according to Google’s business listing.
News of the closing first circulated on the Eat Up Maysville Facebook group shared on Aug. 10 which stated the location is now permanently closed. An update in the same post noted that a call to the Pizza Hut call center indicated carryout remained open, but the representative provided no further details.
Community members have shared memories of the restaurant, which has long been a fixture in the area. The original poster reflected on “40 years of memories,” while others expressed sadness over the reported closure of the longtime local dining option.
The red-roofed restaurant, a classic Pizza Hut design built in the mid-1980s, had offered dine-in, carryout and delivery for decades along the busy commercial corridor, however it now sits empty.
The closure comes amid a larger effort by parent company Yum! Brands to close roughly 250 underperforming Pizza Hut restaurants across the United States this year. Company officials have not released a complete list of affected locations, so it remains unclear whether the Maysville site was included in that plan.
The restaurant was operated by Arnold Family of Restaurants, LLC, a multi-state franchisee. Other pizza options remain available in the Maysville area for residents seeking similar meals.
