Rocky Adkins to Speak at Mason County Democrats America 250th Celebration
MAYSVILLE, Ky. (Mason County Post) — As the United States marked its 250th anniversary on Fourth of July, the Mason County Democrats are bringing the patriotic festivities to northeastern Kentucky with the “America 250 Celebration” on Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the Limestone Center in Maysville.
Rocky Adkins, who recently concluded his service as senior advisor to Governor Andy Beshear (his last day was Friday, July 10), will headline as the Keynote Speaker for their evening event.
Adkins, a longtime Democratic leader, served in the Kentucky House of Representatives for over three decades (1987–2019), representing eastern Kentucky counties including Rowan, Elliott, and Lewis. He held prominent roles as House Majority Leader and later Minority Floor Leader, and was deeply involved in key issues such as healthcare expansion, education funding, economic development, and energy policy.
Adkins’ departure from the Beshear administration comes as he is rumored to be preparing to launch a campaign for the Kentucky Governors Office, with formal announcement events scheduled in Lexington and Louisville in the coming days.
The event offers a timely opportunity for local Democrats and community members to gather, celebrate the nation’s milestone, and hear from one of Kentucky’s most experienced public servants during this significant political transition.
This celebration aligns with broader statewide and national efforts to commemorate America 250, blending patriotism, community, and political engagement in Mason County.
