MAYSVILLE, Ky. (Mason County Post) — Kentucky State Senator Steve West and State Representative William “Buddy” Lawrence presented an $18 million check to Maysville Utilities during a City Commission meeting on Thursday evening.
The funding was allocated and designated by the Kentucky General Assembly for planning, engineering and construction work related to regional water improvements.
Mason County Judge Executive Owen McNeill shared photos and details to social media from the meeting, calling the state’s investment in local infrastructure a significant sign of progress for Maysville and Mason County.

“I believe both the Parmer Family’s investment in Maysville’s East End and the state’s investment in our infrastructure are a tremendous sign of big things to come for Maysville and all of Mason County Kentucky,” McNeill wrote.
The check presentation took place as local officials also introduced Perry and Maggie Parmer, the new investors behind the returning East End IGA, along with store manager Peggy Hester.
Officials described the $18 million allocation as support for critical water system upgrades serving the region.
